Welcome to Arndell School

At Arndell School, we support primary-aged students who find it difficult to participate successfully in their mainstream education due to emotional, behavioural, mental health, or relationship challenges.

We offer short-term, individualised programs designed to help students re-engage with learning, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to return to their local school setting. Every child’s program is tailored to their strengths, goals, and personal needs.

We work in close partnership with families, schools, and health professionals to ensure that every student receives consistent, wraparound support. Through our collaboration with Coral Tree Family Service, a state-wide tertiary referral service, we provide a holistic and therapeutic approach to learning and wellbeing.

Our trauma-informed practice sits at the heart of everything we do. We create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive environment where students feel safe, understood, and valued. Our dedicated team focuses on helping children regulate their emotions, develop positive relationships, and gain confidence in managing challenges effectively.

Each student has a Personalised Learning and Support Plan (PLASP), which guides their learning goals, wellbeing focus, and transition pathway.

"We are thrilled to support students from all across Sydney and are proud to offer a nurturing environment where they can thrive. Our dedicated and highly qualified staff work closely with the entire community to create programs and supports that help students develop essential skills in a fun and engaging way.

We understand that many students face challenges in navigating the complexities of school life and social situations. At Arndell, we focus on strengthening students’ numeracy, literacy, and social skills while helping them manage their emotions in a positive, constructive manner.

Through our valuable partnership with Coral Tree Family Service (Dept. of Health), we have developed a trauma-informed approach that is sensitive to mental health conditions. We are committed to continually growing our knowledge and sharing it with others, including the mainstream schools we partner with to support our shared students.

At Arndell, we believe in the power of teamwork. We regularly bring together all stakeholders—families, schools, and specialists—to set shared goals and ensure every student receives the support they need. Our ultimate aim is to equip students with the skills and confidence they need to transition successfully back to their census schools after completing the Arndell program".
