Wellbeing

At Arndell, student wellbeing and learning are deeply connected — we know that when students feel safe, understood and valued, they are ready to learn. Supporting each child’s mental health, emotional regulation and sense of belonging is at the heart of our work every day.

We provide a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where students develop the skills to manage emotions, build confidence and form positive relationships. Our staff take the time to know every student and work closely with families, carers and health professionals to provide consistent, wrap-around support.

Wellbeing is embedded across all areas of school life — in the classroom, the playground, and through programs such as Zones of Regulation, Circle of Security, Emotion Coaching, and Social Skills groups. These programs help students strengthen self-awareness, resilience and problem-solving skills in safe and supported ways.

Students also have access to school counsellors and specialist staff, as well as a range of wellbeing initiatives that promote positive behaviour, healthy choices and regular attendance. Together, we create a school community where every student feels seen, supported and empowered to thrive — at school and beyond.
